New York City Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund has an immediate opening for a talented operations specialist to join the firm’s broker-dealer business. 

In this role, you will gain exposure to various markets and products and will have the opportunity to work with groups across the Firm, including Trading, Technology, Legal & Compliance, and Portfolio Management & Analytics. 

You will be responsible for: tracking and resolving DTC prior to settlement; monitoring the intraday clearing process; resolving settlement issues with the investment advisor business; and aiding other departments within the firm with the daily monitoring of the Firm’s trading business. 

Middle office duties will include: P&L reporting; trading desk, Treasury and OTC derivatives support; operational risk and cost analysis; collateral/margin monitoring; and interactions with prime brokers and administrators.

Successful candidates will have 2 to 3 years of equities clearance and settlement experience in a broker-dealer business within an operations or middle office role. 

The ideal candidate will have: a strong academic record, including a bachelor’s degree in finance, business or economics from a top university; solid MS Office skills (with a particular emphasis on Excel); familiarity with database software platforms and accounting concepts; strong knowledge of settlements and financial products; and excellent written and oral communication skills.  

A series 7 license is required.
