Fund Accountant

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare month-end and reporting period internal fund accounting analyses and calculations to support hedge fund reporting
  • Accounting and reporting for all Bank Debt products
  • Prepare and review the monthly broker receivable and payable schedules for unsettled trades
  • Review monthly interest accruals for accuracy and completeness
  • Review Bank Debt trade closing files, including their setup in Advent Geneva
  • Provide assistance to the Bank Debt Operations team with complex closings and the setup and booking in Geneva
  • Review distributions and PIK calculations
  • Ensure accuracy of accounting records for securities positions, corporate actions, receivable and payable accruals as well as miscellaneous journal entries
  • Identify exceptions and issues affecting accounting records and drive resolution through timely communication and correction
  • Identify weaknesses and inefficiencies in existing processes and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Perform testing of Geneva upgrades and patches to the system
  • Provide support for annual audits and compliance reviews 

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting with strong academic history
  • 1+ years of relevant accounting experience in public accounting or public / private
  • CPA preferred
  • Hedge fund exposure helpful but not required
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Advent Geneva preferable
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Solid team player and future leader
