Job Description:

  • To ensure the accuracy and integrity of revenues generated by the High Grade desk and ensure that the general ledger properly reflects the P&L and accruals relating to the products traded.
  • Month-end close process
  • Take ownership of ad-hoc projects
  • Responsible for the daily P&L production attribution. This involves extensive liaison with the trading desk. This role will serve as one of the primary points of contact for the trading desk in relation to all p/l queries
  • Understand the drivers behind the daily P&L in relation to market movements.
  • Be the point of contact for that business for the front office and in providing information for back office and other interested parties.
  • Preparation of end-of-day P&L, including daily commentaries
  • Ensure the maintenance of a strong internal control environment
  • Assist with wider group initiatives such as systems migrations.
  • Liaison with other departmental areas (e.g. Front Office, Operations, IT, Financial Control)
  • Process and control development, identification of improvements through documentation and analysis of current procedures

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years Product Control experience required
  • Strong control awareness
  • Desire to provide top quality service to internal clients
  • Excellent people skills, both communication and active listening
  • Ability to review problems from different view points, devising and implementing practical solutions
  • Ability to meet regular, tight reporting deadlines
  • Use of Excel macros and Access to build reporting and analysis tools
  • Evidence of Finance Projects experience
  • Basic accounting/ finance knowledge
Strong knowledge on credit products with basic exposure to derivatives
