Job Description:

  • Working with team members to develop tax efficient acquisition structures
  • Review and analyze investments in portfolio companies including partnerships and corporations performing business in multiple states and foreign jurisdictions including Passive Foreign Investment Companies (PFIC) and Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFC), and analysis of issues with respect to Unrelated Business Taxable Income (UBTI) and Effectively Connected Income (ECI)
  • Compiling quarterly/annual Publicly Traded Partnership (PTP) report
  • Performing tax allocations of partnership income
  • Compiling tax data for federal and multi-state tax return preparation, and review of K-1s, federal and state tax returns
  • Assisting to obtain US Tax ID numbers and performing check-the-box elections
  • Assisting to maintain tax calendar for numerous multi-tiered partnership structures
  • dentifying and performing US withholding tax requirements relating to US source income allocations to foreign recipients
  • Identifying and performing states withholding tax requirements relating to states income allocation to nonresident recipients
  • Tracking book/tax differences
  • Responding to tax authority requests and supervision of audits
  • Performing interim year tax projections and allocations
  • Researching domestic and foreign tax reporting issues
  • Responding to Limited Partners' tax inquiries 

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or other business related field; a CPA and/or a graduate degree would be a plus
  • Strong understanding in partnership taxation issues
  • Relevant tax experience working with private equity funds
  • Knowledge of domestic and some international partnership planning, on an organizational as well as partner level basis
  • Ability to perform research and work with internal/outside tax counsel
  • Strong analytical skills and an ability to harness complex data and relevant information that drives decision-making
  • Ability to produce timely and accurate records, and understand that supporting work paper documentation is paramount
