Job Description:
  • Execute and coordinate elements of the SEC quarterly financial reporting process, including data analysis and accuracy of submissions, assist with the automation of disclosures and prepare final footnote and MD&A disclosures within the Workiva reporting tool
  • Interact with Product Control, Treasury and Risk functions to communicate disclosure requirements, review submissions and resolve discrepancies in a timely fashion
  • Prepare financial statements and footnote disclosures for certain standalone audited subsidiaries at year-end
  • Coordinate with external auditors for assigned reporting areas
  • Monitor financial reporting developments, including drafting of new disclosures as necessary
  • Research competitor filings to benchmark and further develop this company’s external disclosures
  • Review XBRL tagging
  • Ensure compliance with SEC and GAAP reporting requirements
  • Work closely with external auditors and our parent company, as necessary
  • Communicate with the CFO for assistance and coordinate with our parent company with the earnings release process and coordinate with our parent company
  • Other responsibilities and ad-hoc projects as assigned

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-8 years relevant experience
  • Knowledge of GAAP; knowledge of SEC reporting rules
  • Attention to detail
  • Written communication skills with the ability to draft technical disclosures concisely and clearly
  • Ability to leverage technology and develop processes to create efficiencies and enhance controls in the reporting function
  • Excel, word and database skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

Other Skills:

  • CPA preferred
  • Financial services background a positive, but not required
  • Experience with XBRL, including detail footnote tagging, a strong positive
  • Public accounting background preferred (Big Four or regional firm)
  • Knowledge of Workiva is a plus
