Summary

The Tax Manager will serve in a direct client management role. In addition, the candidate will help manage all aspects of the quality, timeliness and efficiency of client deliverables, including tax return preparation, tax planning and advisory services. In this role the candidate will be supporting other client and functional managers who depend on tax related information to service clients.

Job Description:

Client Management

  • Establishing rapport with sophisticated clients to gain their confidence, gaining an intimate knowledge of their lives so as to be able to anticipate their needs
  • Working with colleagues as well as external advisors to deliver integrated advisory services that exceed client expectations

Functional Management

  • Tax Planning
  • Researching and interpreting the Internal Revenue Code, various State Tax Codes, Federal Estate and Gift Tax Code, Private Letter Rulings, Revenue Rulings and Tax Court Cases
  • Providing analyses of financial, gift, estate, and income tax issues of high net worth individuals and families
  • Completing transactional planning and structuring
  • Tax Compliance
  • Overseeing preparation of individual, partnership, foundation, fiduciary and gift tax returns for high net worth individuals and affiliated entities; possibly prepare or assist in the preparation of the more complex tax returns
  • Representation before tax authorities
  • Responding quickly to demanding clients’ various requests
  • Administration
  • Recruiting, training, and developing tax staff; contributing technical discussions and administrative initiatives in tax department meetings
  • Participating in networking events and business development, as appropriate

Requirements / Qualifications:

What you’ll offer:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting; CPA and/or MS in Tax highly preferred
  • At least 7 years relevant experience in tax and/or family office environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience in ProSystem Fx Tax and Document, CCH research software
  • Candidate must possess strong organizational and analytical skills, general/broad knowledge of economic business conditions and ability to work on multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work in a small team-oriented/client-focused environment
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent communication and client-service skills
  • Strong analytical skills
