We are currently seeking Assistant controller in Corporate Accounting to support the Regulatory Reporting group.

Job Description:

• Responsible for month end close processes for multiple financial products and legal entities, which includes variance analysis, P&L commentaries, and account analysis review
• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual regulatory filings for various global jurisdictions
• Preparing and reviewing financial results to management, including evaluation of capital adequacy and risk factors to ensure regulatory risk is mitigated
• Supervising and developing staff including establish performance expectations and review work assignments
• Managing year-end audits, ensuring all necessary work is performed, auditors’ questions and follow-up items are addressed to ensure the audit is completed timely and efficiently
• Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and analysis
• Understanding business processes that impact the financial results and processes
• Establishing and developing key business relationships with other teams including CFO teams and business operations teams
• Providing wide range of financial and operational supports to external clients and internal groups
• Identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency of existing processes, and propose improvements to streamline the collection, use, and presentation of data
• Oversight of internal controls to ensure controls are effective and functioning as designed
• Ad-hoc requests and special projects


Requirements / Qualifications:

What you’ll offer:
• 7+ years of relevant accounting and reporting experience
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting
• A background in public accounting
• Experience in regulatory controllers group in financial services industry (preferably Broker Dealer) with knowledge of rule 15c3-1 and FINRA FOCUS filings
• Understanding of financial products (equities, futures, options, swaps, derivatives, and fixed income)
• Superior Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong quantitative, data manipulation skills, and ability to work with large data sets while succinctly summarizing conclusions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions that address the issue while being innovative and creative
• Team player with ability to change priorities

We’d love to see:
• CPA
• Familiarity with the Bloomberg terminal
• VBA
• Proficiency in SAP or similar system
