Job Description:
- Managing a portfolio of the firm’s most troubled investments, primarily comprised of high quality syndicated senior secured loans
- Developing and implementing plans for maximizing recoveries and minimizing losses on the portfolio
- Preparing, analyzing and modeling potential restructuring alternatives and developing analyses and what-if scenarios
- Preparing restructuring / amendment / waiver requests along with other written updates on portfolio accounts
- Negotiating with various constituencies including financial sponsors, management, other bank group members and other lenders in the capital structure
- Preparing portfolio update reports
- Developing and maintaining a core set of advantageous relationships with other lenders as well as with legal, financial and operational advisors
- Supporting senior team members as needed
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with a major in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related financial discipline with an outstanding record of academic achievement
- 4 to 6 years of experience in a finance function, preferably with distressed experience either within an investment bank’s restructuring group or within a buyside investment team
- Formal credit training with experience analyzing stressed and distressed situations
- Strong analytical, financial modeling and research skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Experience working with financial sponsors is a plus
