Company Information:

The Derivatives Trade Support team is responsible for the daily confirmation and settlement of fixed income, rates, credit, futures, FX, and other OTC derivative products. The team is actively engaged with the firm’s Front Office, Back Office, Compliance, and Technology teams to manage operational risks.  The team also works very closely with all of the firm’s trading and clearing counterparties.


Job Description:
  • Design, implement, and document robust workflows, processes, and a control framework
  • Collaborate cross functionally to create an Operational platform to support MBS trading
  • Manage the trade life cycle from trade entry to settlement, including monitoring and reconciling trade activity and cash flows for MBS with potential to cover other products such as bonds, repos, interest rate swaps, credit, FX, futures, and options
  • Conduct verification and reconciliation of all positions to our prime brokers and trading counterparties
  • Work with our Portfolio Managers, Traders, and external trading counterparties and prime brokers to resolve trade related issues in a timely fashion
  • Assist in responding to ad hoc queries from internal and external clients
  • Participate in the onboarding process for new PM teams including account setup, platform training, and third-party connectivity
  • Help push for continuous improvement of the team’s processes via automation and/or identifying opportunities for increased efficiency and/or control

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in the Middle Office Operations function of a financial institution focusing on MBS
  • Expert level knowledge of MBS is required (Agency/Non-Agency, CMBS, CMO, IO/PO Pass-Throughs, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of other fixed income and derivatives products is preferred
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, confident
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to a changing environment
  • High attention to detail aimed at delivering a product that meets our best-in-class standards
  • A self-starter who can work independently
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. A basic understanding of VBA is helpful but not required
