Job Description:
NYC based Broker-Dealer is searching for a Finance Analyst to assist with the firm’s financial and regulatory reporting duties and draft financial statements for approval by the Head of Risk and Finance.
- Building out the finance department to support the firms future growth
- Perform financial reconciliations, process journal entries, and prepare supporting schedules
- Drive new projects and initiatives within the firm
- Assist with the monthly financial close process and external regulatory reporting process
- Coordination with internal and external auditors
- Controlling, contract, and vendor management
- Prepare ad hoc management reports as needed
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 1-3 years related work experience, experience at a national public accounting firm is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Interest in pursuing the CPA
- Willingness to obtain Series 27 Finance and Operations Principal (FINOP) license
- Background in preparing financial statements under US GAAP
- Experience in dealing with examinations, audits, and inquiries from regulatory authorities
- Experience in the financial industry is a plus
