Seeking a Senior Fund Accountant as a growth hire to the Finance and Accounting team.
Company Information:
Our client is a $10 billion SEC-registered private debt/credit fund located in Midtown. The company focuses on middle market direct lending opportunities and are making a growth hire for someone with 4-7 years of experience. The accounting team is lean with high exposure, operating as mini-CFOs across IR, treasury, loan operations/originations, deal support, investment monitoring, forecasting, and other accounting, & finance responsibilities.
Job Description:
- Operate as mini-CFOs across IR, treasury, loan operations/originations, deal support, investment monitoring, forecasting, and other accounting, & finance responsibilities.
- Assist with administrator oversight, internal accounting and reconciliation, and external reporting
- Maintain and manage strong relationships with external service providers, including third party administrator, auditors, and banks
- Considerable exposure to the firm’s senior finance and operations personnel in a multifaceted role across the organization
- Assist the accounting team in all finance functions
- Review fund administrator books and records
- Assist with management company books and records
- Support investment operations trade and settlement processes
- Independently conduct investment monitoring, forecasting, position reconciliation, and internal reporting
- Maintain “shadow accounting” internal records and systems
- Assist in treasury functions
- Involvement in all stages of fund accounting, treasury, and loan operations
- Facilitate investor reporting requests
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 3-7+ years of relevant experience, which may include work in asset management, loan operations, tax, or public accounting
- CPA or a short-term plan to obtain a CPA a plus
- Knowledge of credit/direct lending a plus
- Ability to handle pressure effectively and successfully prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining the highest standards of work product and adhering to stringent deadlines
