Job Description:
Title: Management Company Controller
- Responsible for all of the Management Company’s general accounting functions (multi-currency), budgeting, cash management, quarterly partner estimates, and year-end partner distributions.
- Perform monthly close of books and records and prepare monthly financials, as well as annual tax allocations, for Management Company and over 30 General Partner and Special Purpose Vehicle entities
- Assist with annual audit requests for the Management Company combined GAAP Audit (over 20 entities) and 401k audit
- Review preparation of monthly partner statements for their interest in the General Partners and their personal investments in the funds
- Track and report Accrued Private Equity Incentive Fee compensation waterfalls
- In charge of preparing detailed monthly expense forecasts and identifying variances
- Assist Tax Team with ad hoc reporting needs, partner related schedules, quarterly estimates and tax payments
- Provide strong leadership, support and training to team members (currently 8)
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience, preferably in a hedge fund or asset management
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA preferred, but not mandatory)
- Highly motivated, high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information
