Summary

The Accountant would be responsible for assisting with the required financial reporting for the real estate funds and internal reporting for the management companies. The Accountant would report directly to the Assistant Controller.

Job Description:

– Responsible for preparation of real estate funds financial reporting:
o Review quarterly and annual property financial statements and work paper packages prepared by property accountants
o Prepare quarterly fund work papers, including hypothetical liquidation
o Prepare quarterly and annual fund fair value financial statements for real estate funds o Assist with drafting audit reports with complete footnotes
o Work with independent auditors to facilitate annual audits o Constantly strive for consistency in accounting and reporting among the various funds – Calculation of quarterly asset management fee for funds, preferred return calculations, waterfalls and IRRs, prepare monthly capital availability reports for real estate funds
– Establish full understanding of all partnership and management agreements and ensure compliance with agreements
– Support investor relations by preparing various investor specific requests
– Assist in the preparation of capital contributions from and distribution to investors
– Responsible for maintaining the books and records of the real estate funds, including processing payments from funds
– Responsible for maintaining the books and records of the management companies, including processing payments and employee expense reports
– Prepare monthly budget vs. actual reports for management across all management companies
– Interacting and coordinating with tax department to maintain tax basis books across real estate funds and management companies
Qualifications


Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

– Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience, emphasis on real estate or private equity a plus

– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects/funds simultaneously

– Team player, highly motivated and a self-starter

– Proficient in Microsoft Excel – CPA or in process of obtaining CPA license a plus, but not required Pay & Benefits: – Competitive compensation
