Job Description:

Oversee the tax structuring and compliance of more than 20 different investment vehicles that include a publicly traded business development company and private equity funds focused on corporate finance, structured products, and real estate.

Oversee tax compliance of employee funds and carried interest plans. Coordinate income tax projections and estimates for the funds, employee plans, and carry plans. Light family office duties.

Candidate should be well versed in a broad depth of investor tax sensitives impacting U.S. taxables, U.S. tax exempts, sovereigns, and non U.S. investors.

Advise on both fund structuring and deal structuring from inception to exit. Other tasks would include negotiating side letters, commenting on joint venture agreements, designing tax efficient fund and asset level structures, and successfully implementing such structures.

Advise on tax issues associated with a broad base of assets to include IPOs, loan origination, start-ups, debt modification, bankruptcy, shipping, turnarounds, treaty structures, securitizations, non U.S. investments (European debt focus).

Prepare RIC assets and REIT assets.

Assist in the preparation of 10Q and 10K for publicly traded regulated investment company.

Prepare ASC 740 for all funds.

Ensure on-going FATCA compliance.

Coordinate externally with accounting firms, legal, limited partners, and joint venture operating partners.

Liaise internally with other departments to include legal, acquisitions team, asset management team, investor relations, operations, fund accounting, and management company accounting


Requirements / Qualifications:

• Big 4 Tax Professional – 5-10 years
• Can be public/private
• CPA strongly preferred
• Exposure to Credit, PE, RE a big plus
