The asset management arm of a large prestigious institution is seeking a motivated candidate to oversee valuation, accounting, and reporting primarily for the portfolio’s private direct investments. Their finance team works closely with the firm’s investment professionals and external private companies, as well as the firm’s legal and operations teams to execute all the investment activities for the portfolio.

Job Description:
  • Manage valuation, accounting, and reporting functions, primarily for private direct investments within the portfolio.
  • Conduct and evaluate private company valuations using various methodologies, partnering with external experts to develop, maintain, and review financial models.
  • Perform comprehensive research on companies, industries, and markets to gather data and insights that support valuation inputs, assumptions, and conclusions.
  • Support due diligence efforts by analyzing financial statements, proxy filings, and other relevant materials to evaluate performance and identify risks.
  • Organize and synthesize large volumes of data into standardized formats for use in reports, presentations, and internal memos.
  • Collaborate effectively with investment professionals, legal teams, auditors, and other stakeholders, clearly communicating methodologies, findings, and addressing questions or concerns.
  • Ensure valuation processes adhere to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices, fostering consistency across departments.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain critical financial data from managers and company reports, liaising with general partners and company management as needed.
  • Partner closely with investment and legal teams during transaction closings, focusing on structural analysis, and provide ongoing support throughout the investment lifecycle.

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • 4-9 Years of valuation experience from a Consulting Firm, Big 4, or Fund
  • CPA or CFA is a Plus
  • In Office Policy: 3x per week (home on Mondays and Fridays)
