Our client, a leading global financial services firm, is seeking a Payment Processing Specialist to join its Funds Transfer team. This role is responsible for processing and verifying domestic and international payment instructions while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with firm policies and operational controls. Experience with wire transfers, payment operations, or banking operations is preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
- Process and verify USD and foreign currency payment instructions received through manual and automated channels, including SWIFT and internal payment systems
- Enter, repair, and validate payment instructions while ensuring all transactions are processed accurately and within established deadlines
- Research and resolve payment inquiries using internal systems, including Keystone, and respond to requests from Account Executives and internal business partners
- Identify, escalate, and communicate payment exceptions, operational risks, and unclear instructions to management
- Maintain adherence to firm policies, procedures, and operational controls to minimize processing errors and operational risk
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide exceptional client service and proactively resolve payment-related issues
- Identify opportunities to improve payment processing workflows, increase straight-through processing (STP), and reduce manual intervention
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and recommend operational efficiencies and automation opportunities
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize and manage work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Strong typing and data entry skills
- Previous experience in payment processing, wire transfers, banking operations, or financial services preferred
- Knowledge of USD and foreign currency payments, SWIFT, Keystone, or RightFax is a strong plus
- Willingness to work 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM, including holiday coverage as needed
Pay $24-$26/hour
