Our client, a premier Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a Temporary Receptionist to support its Washington, DC office while the firm conducts a direct hire search. This individual will serve as the face of the office, providing exceptional customer service to clients, visitors, attorneys, and employees while ensuring the front desk operates efficiently. The ideal candidate is polished, professional, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced legal environment. This is an approximately 6-month contract with the potential for extension or temp-to-perm.
Responsibilities Include:
- Welcome and assist clients, visitors, attorneys, and employees with a high level of professionalism.
- Serve as the primary point of contact at the reception desk.
- Answer, screen, and direct incoming telephone calls.
- Relay messages and respond to routine inquiries.
- Provide backup phone support for other office locations as needed.
- Coordinate visitor office assignments.
- Issue temporary employee badges and maintain badge logs.
- Distribute parking validation tickets and maintain accurate records.
- Coordinate conference room scheduling and meeting logistics.
- Maintain the appearance and organization of the reception area.
- Provide general administrative and operational support.
- Exercise discretion while handling confidential and sensitive information.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of receptionist or front desk experience.
- Prior law firm or professional services experience strongly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior law firm reception experience.
- Experience supporting executives or working within a professional services environment.
- Experience managing high-volume phone systems.
- Strong client service background.
Pay: $26-$31/hour DOE
