Our client, a global fully integrated real estate firm located in New York, NY, is seeking an Senior Accounting Associate to support the Development team at a global real estate firm. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of experience (flexible) and public accounting experience is required (any public accounting background is acceptable). This role is focused on US GAAP financial reporting, general ledger ownership, reconciliations, and supporting quarterly/year-end close and audits. CPA strongly preferred, and IFRS exposure is a plus given the firm’s global footprint.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support team with day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities in a global real estate environment
  • Prepare and post journal entries and other accounting transactions
  • Monitor, maintain, and reconcile cash activities and balances
  • Review general ledger balances for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate account classification
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Perform detailed variance / fluctuation analyses on general ledger accounts and explain key drivers
  • Support quarter-end and year-end close, including coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Assist with audit and review processes, including addressing auditor inquiries and preparing support, detail, and analysis

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience (flexible); candidates with additional overall experience will be considered
  • Public accounting experience required (any public accounting background)
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience with financial reporting and general ledger accounting
  • Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; ability to communicate findings clearly
  • CPA strongly preferred (CPA++)
  • IFRS experience/exposure a plus

Pay: $40/hr-$50/hr
