Our client, a highly regarded intellectual property boutique law firm, is seeking a Trademark Associate Attorney to join its Trademark & Copyright Practice Group on a temporary with potential to convert to permanent basis. This attorney will manage sophisticated domestic and international trademark matters while working alongside a collaborative team of experienced intellectual property attorneys. The ideal candidate will have strong experience handling domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced practice.
Responsibilities include:
- Manage domestic and foreign trademark prosecution matters from application through registration.
- Prepare and respond to USPTO Office Actions.
- Conduct trademark clearance searches and analyze search results.
- Coordinate with foreign associates on international trademark filings and prosecution.
- Advise clients on trademark strategy, portfolio management, and brand protection.
- Draft legal correspondence, memoranda, and client communications.
- Maintain accurate docketing and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
- Manage multiple active matters while producing high-quality, detail-oriented work product.
- Collaborate with partners and fellow attorneys on complex trademark and intellectual property matters.
- Communicate directly with clients and provide exceptional client service throughout the prosecution process.
Requirements:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Approximately 3–6 years of trademark experience preferred; more senior candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong experience handling both domestic and foreign trademark prosecution.
- Experience conducting trademark clearance searches and analyzing results.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize competing deadlines and independently manage a busy workload.
- Comfortable interacting directly with clients and working in a collaborative team environment.
- Prior copyright experience is a plus but not required.
Work Arrangement:
- Local candidates: Hybrid schedule with approximately 1 day onsite per week.
- Candidates located in Texas, Ohio, Maryland, Florida, and North Carolina will be considered for remote arrangements.
- Exceptional candidates nationwide with the right trademark background will also be considered for fully remote work.
- Candidates seeking a reduced schedule of approximately 80% of a full-time workweek (roughly four days per week) are encouraged to apply.
