Our client, an established investment firm, is seeking an experienced Financial Reporting Analyst for a one-year contract assignment. This individual will support the Financial Administration team in preparing annual, semi-annual and quarterly financial statements and regulatory filings for registered investment companies.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of mutual fund accounting or related mutual fund experience, including 1–2 years of financial reporting experience. Candidates should have a strong understanding of mutual fund financial reporting, fund expenses and applicable regulatory requirements, along with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.

This is a contract-only opportunity with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote per week, with no more than 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Preparing annual, semi-annual and quarterly financial statements for registered investment companies

  • Preparing applicable regulatory filings, including N-SAR, N-Q, 24F-2 and N-CSR

  • Preparing financial statement and reporting timetable calendars

  • Preparing fund expense proformas and invoices

  • Reviewing fund expenses and accruals and coordinating adjustments with clients and the financial reporting team

  • Supporting the preparation of board books and procedures manuals

  • Reporting and communicating fund performance data

  • Maintaining knowledge of applicable regulations, including the Investment Company Act of 1940, GAAP and Regulation S-X

  • Monitoring regulatory changes affecting registered investment companies

  • Assisting with special projects and reviewing work completed by junior-level staff as needed

  • Utilizing and maintaining knowledge of systems including Eagle/OMEGA, EDGAR and Merrill Reports

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience; Business-related concentration preferred

  • 3–5 years of mutual fund accounting or related mutual fund experience

  • 1–2 years of prior financial reporting experience

  • Strong understanding of mutual fund financial reporting and registered investment companies

  • Experience with fund expenses, accruals and financial statements

  • Knowledge of applicable accounting and regulatory requirements, including GAAP and SEC regulations

  • Experience with Eagle/OMEGA, EDGAR and/or Merrill Reports is a plus

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a strong aptitude for accuracy

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a client-driven, deadline-oriented environment

    Pay Rate: $50 per hour
