We are partnering with an established property management company to hire 1–2 Temporary Housing Lottery & Recertification Specialists. You’ll support two active affordable housing lottery projects, joining an experienced in-house team during a busy stretch through the holiday season.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and process applications selected through NYC Housing Connect
  • Manage applicant files from lottery selection through eligibility review, agency approval, and lease-up
  • Contact applicants to collect required eligibility documentation and follow up on anything missing
  • Review pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, benefit letters, and employment verifications
  • Verify income, employment, assets, household size, and household composition
  • Calculate household income and determine eligibility based on AMI and program requirements
  • Prepare complete, audit-ready files for HPD/HDC review, and respond to agency comments and corrections
  • Track applicant progress and manage a high volume of files while meeting project deadlines
  • Assist with annual and interim recertifications as needed, including income verification and eligibility confirmation
  • Support compliance reviews, audits, and file corrections
  • Use Excel and the company’s housing lottery system to track applicant information

Requirements:

  • NYC Housing Connect or affordable housing lottery experience (strongly preferred)
  • Experience moving affordable housing applicants through eligibility and approval
  • Knowledge of HPD and/or HDC requirements, AMI guidelines, and household income calculations
  • Experience reviewing income, employment, asset, and household documentation
  • Comfort using Excel and learning new housing or property management systems quickly
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to review complex financial documents
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills, and comfort working directly with applicants and residents
  • Availability to work 100% onsite in the Bronx, Monday–Friday
  • Openness to an initial 1–2 month project
