IT Support Engineer

Location: Manhattan, NY (On-site, 5 days/week)

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on IT Support Engineer to serve as the primary on-site technology support resource for our Manhattan office. This role is responsible for providing responsive, high-quality end-user support across a predominantly Microsoft-based environment (with limited Mac support) to a user base of approximately 250 employees. While a small support team is based in our Long Island office, this individual will be the main point of contact and "boots on the ground" for all IT needs in Manhattan, requiring strong independent judgment, ownership, and the ability to escalate appropriately when needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for a support-focused IT professional who enjoys direct end-user interaction, variety in daily work, and the autonomy of running day-to-day IT operations for a corporate office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for all IT support requests (in-person, phone, email, and ticketing system) for the Manhattan office
  • Provide troubleshooting and resolution for hardware, software, network connectivity, and account/access issues
  • Set up, configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and mobile devices
  • Support Windows OS and Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for the majority of users; provide basic support for a small number of Mac users
  • Manage user identity and access administration in Active Directory / Entra ID (Azure AD) or Okta, including onboarding and offboarding
  • Manage and support mobile devices (iOS/Android) using Microsoft Intune, including enrollment, configuration, and compliance policies
  • Support conference room A/V and video conferencing technology, ensuring meeting spaces are functional
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assets, configurations, and recurring issues
  • Escalate complex issues to senior IT resources or the Long Island IT team as appropriate, while managing the resolution process for the end user
  • Assist with basic network troubleshooting (Wi-Fi, VPN, printers, connectivity) and coordinate with the broader IT/infrastructure team on larger network issues
  • Support new hire IT onboarding, including equipment setup and orientation
  • Manage IT inventory and coordinate hardware procurement/replacement as needed
  • Partner with the Long Island-based IT team on shared projects, standards, and escalations
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend process or system improvements

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3–7 years of hands-on IT support/help desk experience in a corporate environment
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
  • Experience with identity and access management tools such as Entra ID (Azure AD) or Okta
  • Experience supporting both desktop and laptop hardware, printers, and mobile devices
  • Experience managing mobile devices via Microsoft Intune (enrollment, configuration, compliance policies)
  • Basic familiarity with macOS (supporting a small number of Mac users)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently with minimal on-site IT oversight
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests in a fast-paced office environment
  • Must be able to work on-site five days per week in Manhattan

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting a user base of 200+ employees
  • Familiarity with basic networking concepts (Wi-Fi, VPN, switches/printers)
  • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Freshservice, Zendesk)
  • Exposure to conference room/A-V and video conferencing technology (Zoom, Teams Rooms)
  • A+, Network+, or similar IT certifications a plus
  • Experience in real estate, property management, or a similarly fast-paced corporate environment a plus

Work Environment

  • On-site role based in our Manhattan office, 5 days per week
  • Primarily Windows/Microsoft environment with a small number of Mac users
  • Works closely with, but independently from, an IT support team based in Long Island
  • Some light lifting of IT equipment (setting up workstations, monitors, etc.) may be required
