Job Description:
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close across multiple properties and entities
- Review and approve property-level financials and ensure GAAP compliance
- Independently review and sign off on financial statements
- Manage and mentor a team of 8–10 remote/offshore property accountants
- Oversee reconciliations including bank, security deposits, taxes, and intercompany accounts
- Partner with Asset Management on variance analysis and key performance drivers
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management processes
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and lender reporting
- Drive process improvements and strengthen internal controls
- Build and enhance reporting using Excel and serve as system lead for Yardi
- Oversee and review NYC regulatory filings including TC and RPIE
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 8+ years of accounting experience, with real estate required
- Prior experience managing teams, including remote or offshore staff
- Strong proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel
- Deep understanding of accrual accounting and property-level financials
- Experience with NYC regulatory filings including TC and RPIE
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- CPA preferred
- Experience with NYC multifamily assets preferred
- Background working with outsourced accounting teams and lender reporting preferred
