Job Description:
- Supervising 2-4 Staff Accountants on separate client engagements
- Training and developing junior professionals, assist with goal-setting and performance reviews
- Direct responsibility for cash management process and accounting for high net worth clients including but not limited to:
- Reviewing of cash disbursements and credit card processing for multiple entities (personal, corporate, foundation), including accounts payable reconciliations; general ledger transaction coding; check, ACH and wire payments; and vendor correspondence
- Reviewing of cash receipts processing, including accounts receivable reconciliation; checks and wire deposits
- Reviewing of payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees, expense reimbursements, benefits, and payroll tax administration
- Providing HR support for clients with domestic/business staff including but not limited to onboarding new employees, monitoring receipt of timesheets and tracking PTO
- Coordinating with payroll service and employee benefits provider, including but not limited to setting up new payroll and adding or removing employees
- Reviewing month end activities including bank and fixed asset reconciliations, investment activity journal entries, intercompany elimination entries, detailed general ledger transactions and other month end closing entries
- Monitoring cash needs of clients on a daily basis and facilitate funding of accounts, as required
- Preparing monthly/quarterly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, statement of net worth and/or statements of cash flows) including all supporting schedules, as applicable
- Interacting daily with multiple clients, financial institutions and vendors
- Proactively manage ad-hoc client requests
- Assisting in gathering of tax related information for tax preparation
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Accounting degree (Graduate or Undergraduate)
- 3+ years accounting experience, with strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Look-ups, Filters)
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing professional staff
- Communicates effectively with strong written and oral communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail (thorough and accurate)
- Demonstrated exceptional self-management skills: organization, time management, prioritization and analytical skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, team-oriented and client-focused environment
- Highly motivated, inquisitive, self-starter with high-energy; demonstrates resilience and effectively manages-up, down and laterally
- Exceptional interpersonal skills; drives continuous improvement; fosters effective teams; exhibits accountability and ownership
- Public accounting experience preferred; Big 4 firm and CPA license
- Process and control oriented with focus on optimizing operational efficiencies, PMP or Six Sigma Certification
- Experience working in client service industry, with exposure to serving high net worth individuals/families is preferred
- Experience using MS Dynamics, NetSuite and SalesForce
- Experience with income tax, investments and/or insurance
