Job Description:
  • Build scalable, highly available, high-throughput, maintainable systems deployed in cloud environments
  • Design and build low-latency, high-throughput search APIs, indexing pipelines, and retrieval systems using Python, Typesense, and AWS
  • Evaluate and evolve the search technology stack, guiding decisions on retrieval architecture, indexing strategy, and performance tradeoffs
  • Work with containers, cloud infrastructure, and infrastructure-as-code tooling (Docker, AWS, Terraform)
  • Own work end-to-end, from design and implementation through productionization and customer-facing delivery
  • Detect and investigate anomalies in system performance and data freshness, tracing issues to root cause
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and client stakeholders to strengthen search experience and discoverability
  • Mentor teammates and help raise the bar on system design and operational excellence

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience
  • Strong programming proficiency in Python, with experience operating in cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Experience designing, tuning, and operating high-scale backend systems, APIs, or data delivery platforms
  • Production-level expertise in two or more of: distributed systems, information retrieval, or high-scale API development
  • Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Thrives in collaborative environments with strong ownership and fast iteration
