A leading private equity firm has an immediate opening for a Private Equity Accountant — this role offers a chance to manage fund accounting operations, lead capital call and distribution processes, and collaborate closely with internal teams and external service providers.

Job Description:
- Private equity accounting
- Maintain internal general ledger / financial statements
- Lead capital calls and distribution processes
- Manage fund and investment cash activity
- Assist with valuations process
- Waterfall calculations
- Management fee calculations
- Investor reporting
- Assist with SEC reporting and other compliance related matters.
- Support corporate goals and business/departmental initiatives
- Maintain/manage client expectations and coordinate deliverable timelines with the team and external service providers
- Oversee the Fund Administrators to ensure quality and timely reports
- Cash tracking schedules
- Act as the main liaison with our independent administrators and other service providers
- Work on special projects on an ad hoc basis
Requirements / Qualifications:
- BS degree with concentration in Accounting
- CPA or MBA (CPA preferred)
- Private equity experience preferred, but not necessary
- Strong knowledge of accounting, specifically with respect to alternative investment funds, with a focus on private equity funds preferred
- Experience in understanding, interpreting, and working on waterfall calculations, management fees, and carried interest allocations
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with the proven ability to multi-task and to work efficiently to meet quality client deliverables
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player – you are willing to be hands on and jump in no matter how small or how large the task may be
- Detail Oriented – you are focused on the details and always have your numbers down pat
