A rapidly growing multi-billion-dollar investment manager has an immediate opening for a Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller—this is a unique opportunity to work closely with the Controller and gain broad exposure across fund and management company accounting, valuations, reporting, and tax within a dynamic NYC-based team.

Job Description:
  • Fund Accounting
    • Maintain accurate records of fund activity, including capital calls, distributions, credit facilities, and investments.
    • Research and apply appropriate accounting treatment for new or evolving guidance.
    • Reconcile with fund administrators and maintain shadow books and records.
    • Review monthly NAVs, investor capital statements, notices, expense allocations, investor reporting, and K-1s.
    • Monitor investments and analyze fund and investment performance.
    • Model and calculate fees, investor allocations, IRRs, and other fund-level metrics for new and existing structures.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Oversee year-end audits for assigned funds and review financial statements.
  • Tax
    • Serve as a liaison with external tax providers.
    • Support the formation and setup of new funds and investment SPVs.
  • Valuations
    • Assist with monthly investment valuations in collaboration with the investment team and third-party valuation firms.
  • Management Company
    • Support day-to-day bookkeeping, budgeting, audits, and tax matters.
    • Respond to inquiries from internal teams, investors, counterparties, and due diligence requests.
    • Provide senior management with timely performance updates and key fund developments.
    • Assist with special projects and ad hoc initiatives.
    • Identify process improvements and support technology and platform enhancement initiatives.

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience at a public accounting firm (with Fund Clients), a fund, or a combination of both
  • Credit Fund experience preferred
  • CPA Preferred
  • NYC 5x per week
