Job Description:
This position will report to the Group Finance Controller and ensures the organization runs in an efficient and controlled manner. Central Functions is organized into Group Finance, Fund Control, Legal
& Compliance, Information Technology and Human Resources. These teams work together with a common aim of creating a best-in-class environment. The Group Finance team are predominantly based in London, focused on the control and oversight of the corporate group. The team consists of highly motivated professionals in London, New York, Luxemburg, and Guernsey all working together as a cohesive unit.
Corporate Accounting
- Provide assistance with all corporate accounting processes, being a key contributor to an efficient and timely month-end close process;
- Support the Financial Controller with relevant account reconciliations and variance analysis;
- Take ownership for certain areas of the US corporate group, apply technical knowledge to complex accounting issues, and effectively respond to queries on such areas;
- Monitor and manage cash position for the US group; and
- Assist with the annual audit process relevant to the US group, responding to requests in a timely and accurate manner
Financial Reporting
- Taking ownership for reporting of certain US cost centres, including some ‘business partnering’ with cost centre owners;
- Taking ownership of certain external reporting requirements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to external bodies and regulators; and
- Participate in ad-hoc projects.
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Contribute to the annual budgeting process, taking ownership for assigned cost areas for the US group;
- Support management decisions through regular and informative forecasting and business analysis; and
- Support management with ad hoc business reporting and analysis.
Management Company Operations
- Contributing to the work of the wider US group finance team in relation to finance operations, including occasional ad hoc support on;
o Accounts payable / receivable;
o Management and Incentive Fee invoicing;
o Fund costs allocations;
o Maintaining Travel & Expense process through review of submitted expenses against policy and timely processing of expense reports; and
o Assisting with the oversight and documentation of such processes for regulatory purposes.
Tax
- Assist the Head of Tax and work with external tax advisors on local tax reporting processes;
Interactions
Main internal interaction is with:
- Group Finance, Fund Control, IT, Legal, Compliance
The position holder will have contacts with the various external such as: - Banks, Administrators, Auditors, Accounting Advisors and tax authorities
Requirements / Qualifications:
Education and Training
- Degree or equivalent
- Accountant with 2-5 years of strong Management Company experience, preferably in Financial Services
Professional Experience
- Financial services exposure with experience in areas of Management
