The Senior Financial Accountant will have primary responsibility for the accounting, analysis and reporting of various consolidated structures and provide assistance in the support of various other funds, new initiatives and ad hoc requests.

Job Description:

− Assist in the accounting and reporting for various investment funds and vehicles, ensuring processes are consistent with specific partnership agreements

− Maintain the general ledger working with the operations group for automated entries as well as posting manual entries

− Prepare and maintain supporting schedules and provide initiatives to streamline accounting processes

− Assist in providing timely, accurate and meaningful fund and general business reporting and analysis

− Support the preparation of the financial statements, providing information and support for the Firm’s independent auditors and assisting in the analysis and implementation of new accounting pronouncements as needed

− Assist in various other ad hoc projects and requests

− Help the Fund Accounting Team drive operational efficiencies and strong controllership throughout all processes

Requirements / Qualifications:

− Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education required

− Meaningful relevant experience in similar business is strongly desired (private equity / leveraged finance / hedge fund or similar), public accounting background in financial services is helpful

− High skill level in Excel a must, proficiency in Solomon, FRX, Access, Wall Street Office or similar packages is a strong plus

− High level of motivation; be a self–starter and results oriented; comfortable working in a fluid environment

− Comfortable with a steep learning curve and seeking assistance from a strong and committed peer group

− Excellent analytical skills and strong accounting skills and instincts

− Must be meticulous, detail–focused and consistently accurate

− Capacity to be a deep thinker – need to operationalize complex partnership agreements and account for investments, incentive fee arrangements, partner allocations, etc.

− Capacity and passion for being part of a fast-growing, small–office environment – requiring outstanding interpersonal skills, strong intellect and appropriate self confidence

− Ability to learn and excel at day–to–day responsibilities and contribute to driving process improvement, standardization and automation
