Job Description:
• Oversee all property-level accounting across approximately 11 assets, including monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and expense tracking
• Manage accounts payable and receivable functions, including rent bill production, vendor payments, and cash management
• Prepare monthly shareholder distributions and track partnership distributions/capital calls
• Maintain corporate accounting for the management company and related entities
• Prepare financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and reporting packages for leadership
• Support quarterly P&L reporting and assist with asset management financial modeling
• Coordinate tax reporting, including K-1 preparation, depreciation schedules, and collaboration with external tax advisors
• Review leases, manage tenant billing, monitor insurance renewals, and oversee property-related payment obligations
• Lead process improvements, implement accounting technologies, and transition accounting functions in-house from third-party providers
• Support broader operational and asset management initiatives as the portfolio expands
Requirements / Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA certification strongly preferred
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility
• Prior real estate accounting experience, ideally across commercial, office, or retail properties with NNN lease structures
• Strong experience independently managing full-cycle accounting functions
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with banking platforms, bill pay systems, and cash management processes
• Knowledge of K-1 preparation, depreciation schedules, and tax reporting coordination
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently in a lean, entrepreneurial environment
• Interest in leveraging technology and automation to improve accounting processes
