Job Description:
- Run the tax compliance program end to end across the families’ entities, trusts, and individual returns
- Serve as the single point of coordination with outside CPA firms, routing key information and inputs
- Manage CPA firms’ timelines, deliverables, and quality, holding them accountable to deadlines
- Review work product and returns, issue-spot and escalate before filings
- Partner with the CFO and in-house counsel on tax structuring for new investments
- Build process and leverage technology to reduce reliance on informal, person-dependent workflows
- Own and centralize institutional knowledge of trusts, wills, estate plans, and entity structures
- Act as project owner for complex, episodic family matters from intake through resolution
- Coordinate outside advisors (attorneys, insurance agents, real estate professionals, etc.) and internal staff
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 8+ years of HNW tax experience from public accounting, advisory, a family office, or a fund
- Required experience with trusts, estates, gift tax, and related matters
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to build process and structure in an environment with informal workflows
- Excellent communication skills, with comfort interacting directly with family members and senior leadership
- Ability to operate as an owner/coordinator rather than a preparer of tax filings
