A rapidly growing investment manager based in New York City with over $5 billion in assets under management.
Job Description:
- Own the management company’s books and records in QuickBooks, including monthly close, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Lead the evaluation and migration to a more robust accounting system (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite), including new policies and controls
- Manage tax compliance for the management company and affiliated entities — federal, state, local filings, K-1s, and estimated payments — working with outside tax preparers
- Own compensation and payroll accounting, partnering with HR and the COO/CFO on salaries, bonus accruals, and partner distributions
- Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting, monitoring actuals against budget and flagging variances
- Deliver management reporting to the COO/CFO and partners, and lead the annual management company audit
- Partner across Fund Accounting, Operations, Legal, and Compliance, taking on ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 5+ years of combined public/private management company accounting experience
- Must have some in-house (non-public accounting) experience
- CPA preferred
