Job Description:
- Prepare federal, state, and local tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120S, 1120, 1041, and exempt org returns)
- Review bookkeeping records, financial statements, general ledgers, and trial balances for tax readiness
- Prepare year-end adjusting journal entries and reconcile tax-related accounts
- Communicate directly with clients on returns, missing info, notices, and tax planning
- Review K-1s, basis schedules, capital accounts, and related workpapers
- Handle tax compliance matters (estimated payments, extensions, state filings) and respond to IRS/state notices
- Research tax issues and support planning projects, special engagements, and client advisory
- Train and mentor junior staff and review their work as assigned
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 5+ years of public tax experience (small-to-midsize CPA firms or family offices)
- Mix of partnership, individual, and corporate tax experience preferred
- Strong technical tax preparation skills and solid accounting knowledge
- Excellent client communication abilities
- Comfortable managing multiple engagements and meeting deadlines
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Spanish speaking a plus
