Job Description:
- Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and work paper packages
- Prepare General Ledger reconciliations o Support and collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis personnel in tracking and reporting key organizational metrics including but not limited to monthly budget, actual variance analysis and cash flow projections
- Internal Collaboration o Liaise with the internal and external partners to allow for timely preparation of annual financial statements, income tax returns, general reporting and tax planning etc.
- Liaise across company departments to gather and provide accounting information for the preparation of quarterly and annual budgets o Support and collaborate with Controller and Director of Project Accounting in all financial matters of the organization to enhance internal controls, identify opportunities to drive growth, and improve profitability thru process automation
- General Accounting Duties
- Assist in managing Treasury functions including but not limited to bank reconciliations review and approval, cash disbursements, cash flow projections etc.
- Successfully facilitate completion of annual financial audit
- Prepare and maintain monthly CM fee calculation schedules
- Manage 1099 processing
- Transfer accounting information between various accounting systems (Timberline / Yardi / Procore etc.)
- Accounting Team Management
- Train Staff in use of Timberline accounting systems as necessary
- Supervise staff (1 staff member) o Manage staff cost job allocations (Replicon)
- Perform annual evaluations of staff which includes setting goals and expectations.
- Design, establish and implement internal policies and procedures as required
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/ Finance preferred
- 5+ years of experience • MBA / CPA preferred
- Experience within construction industry a MUST • Experience with Timberline a MUST
- Experience with Avid Pay desirable
- Advanced knowledge of Sage 300
- Excel – Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, Logic Statements (IF, OR, AND)
- Accounting Transactions: Proficient at managing all accounting related functions for assigned projects: prepare journal entries, enter cash receipts and manual checks, manage general ledgers, make month-end closing entries, prepare accrual schedules, bank reconciliation, account reconciliations, review payables postings to ensure accuracy of accounting, assist with preparation of working papers for annual financial statement reviews and audits.
- Monthly Bank Reconciliation: Accurately prepare monthly bank reconciliations. Research and resolve all unrecorded transactions. Accurately upload positive pay for fraud protection and clear any outstanding items as needed.
- Accounting Systems Proficiency: Able to effectively and accurately use all software related to the Accounting function, including Sage 300, Timberscan, Excel, Concur (if applicable). Proficient user of the Sage 300 system with expertise in reporting, queries, research, recordings, and more. Must know how to run reports and utilize inquiry screens to research entries.
- Month-End Close: Demonstrate knowledge of business function, systems and processes, to efficiently and timely perform month end close and reporting requirements to lender and investors.
