Job Description:
- Partner directly with client stakeholders to advise on regulatory treatment, statutory conclusions, and capital implications for assets under management.
- Ensure all statutory filings and sub-ledger activity are accurately recorded in line with applicable statutory accounting standards, including the complete and proper preparation of regulatory schedules, footnotes, and disclosures.
- Oversee all NAIC Securities Valuation Office (SVO) filings and ensure securities are submitted in accordance with the NAIC Purposes and Procedures Manual.
- Evaluate and recommend statutory accounting policies for new and evolving investment structures.
- Lead the implementation of statutory accounting changes and coordinate closely with Compliance, Legal, Accounting Policy, Operations, Client Relations, Data Management, and Front Office teams.
- Perform technical accounting research on emerging pronouncements; actively participate in ACLI, NAIC, and RBC discussions on investment-related guidance and capital standards, and monitor ongoing regulatory developments.
- Validate and test regulatory updates within the accounting system to ensure accurate application and system compliance.
- Collaborate with Portfolio Managers on inquiries, review NAIC rating changes, and perform in-depth analysis of NAIC 6-designated securities.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on Statutory Principles-Based Bond Definitions, supporting internal teams and external partners on complex regulatory issues.
- Lead, mentor, and develop both onshore and offshore investment accounting professionals, fostering technical expertise and high performance.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- 10+ Years of Regulatory Reporting Experience around US STAT, NAIC Guidance, & PBBD
- Can be from a Bank, an Insurance Firm, a Fund, or a Consulting/Big 4 Firm
- 3x a week in either NYC, CT, or CA
