Job Description:
  • Manage the outsourced tax compliance process from inputs to deliverables; this includes overseeing the tax calendar, issues list, and control / master entity list and all related tax filings.
  • US tax compliance: Manage the tax compliance process for the General Partner (carried interest, waiver and co-invest vehicles).
  • International tax compliance: Manage our service providers, review deliverables, and oversee filing processes.
  • UK Tax compliance: Manage our service providers, review deliverables, and oversee filing processes.
  • Collaborate on tax planning opportunities including ad hoc projects such as new Fund launches, carried interest, waiver, distributions in kind, partnership tax, employment tax and individual tax planning.
  • Coordinate with various internal teams to augment the flow of information, including implementing process improvements among internal teams and with our various service providers.
  • Coordinate with individual tax preparers to explain K-1s, coordinate tax positions among GP members and service
    providers and assist in cash to tax planning.
  • Assist in the oversight of our entity formation process which includes maintaining existing entities, forming new entities, review of structure charts.
  • Interact with GP Members at all levels across the firm, to assist with tax and ad hoc requests, answering questions and providing support, along with onboarding new GP Members.

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Big 4 or Private experience preferred; CPA required.
  • 6 years minimum experience currently working as a manager – asset management related / partnership tax experience a must; experience working on individual taxation a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and implement long term initiatives / process improvements.
  • Excellent excel skills including experience with complex formulas and pivot tables; VBA macro, Power BI/Alteryx, Tableau, SharePoint, or other related software experience a plus.
  • Desire to work in a quick paced environment and pivot between competing priorities; superior organization skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to confidently engage with individuals at all levels including Senior Managing Directors
