Summary

Searching for a Senior Associate to join its commercial real estate arm, which oversees approximately $15 billion in assets.

Job Description:
  •  Assist with month-end and quarter-end close process, i.e., journal entry posting and account
    reconciliations on Investment Portfolio, derivatives, intercompany accounts, equity, footnotes
    and other complex accounting areas
  • Assist with first level detail reviews of junior Associates’ work, i.e., cash/bank reconciliations,
    income & expense workbooks/reconciliations, gain/loss workbooks and footnote workbooks
  • Prepare and analyze the company’s financial statements including balance sheets, income
    statements, and cash flow statements
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making processes
  • Assist in preparation of quarterly SEC filings, i.e., 10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks and earnings releases
  • Assist with researching and preparing technical accounting memos
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal deal, asset management, securitization, tax,
    investor relations and legal teams
  • Interface with internal and external auditors
  • Develop and maintain workpapers that are SOX compliant
  • Own and take responsibility for all assigned areas

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Accounting/Finance Major – Bachelors or higher
  • 4-5 years in Audit and/or Accounting at financial services firms (Big4 experience is a major plus)
  • 2+ years of public company SEC exposure
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively manage and schedule deadlines
  • Solid work ethic; professional and proactive approach to work
  • Must be a team player and obtain a positive attitude
  • Accounting for real estate, BDCs or mortgage/debt instruments is a major plus
  • Working with Workiva and Yardi is preferred
  • CPA License preferred
