Job Description:
Accounting
- Assist in bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for various investment and family entities
- Collaboration with tax professionals in preparation of tax filings for partnerships, individuals and trusts
- Preparation of all accounts payable and maintenance of related documentation
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and cash forecasting
Reporting
- Preparation of periodic performance reports and financials statements
- Assist in preparation of reports and materials for Quarterly and Annual Meetings
- Assist in preparation of top‐line accounting and tax reports for the CEO and the Portfolio Manager
- Ad‐hoc analyses and projects for the CEO or Portfolio Manager
Operations
- Assist with trade booking and reconciliation
- Prepare capital calls and distributions as necessary ‐ Participate in implementation and improvement of internal financial controls
- Maintain capital projects records
- Identify areas for process improvements and automation
- Assist in administration of investment documents; review of subscription documents and agreements, maintenance of capital account balance, analysis of gates, fees and contribution requirements
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
- 2‐3 years of experience in public/private accounting (hedge fund exposure a plus)
- Ability to read legal agreements and contracts (e.g. hedge fund partnership agreements)
- Proven ability to handle proprietary information with discretion
- Highly professional demeanor, strong work ethic, team player with a well‐organized with ability to prioritize
- Flexible and proactive with strong communication skills
- Experience with investment related tax issues a plus
- Strong Excel, Word and Outlook; knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
