Job Description:

Accounting

  • Assist in bookkeeping and general ledger maintenance for various investment and family entities
  • Collaboration with tax professionals in preparation of tax filings for partnerships, individuals and trusts
  • Preparation of all accounts payable and maintenance of related documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and cash forecasting

Reporting

  • Preparation of periodic performance reports and financials statements
  • Assist in preparation of reports and materials for Quarterly and Annual Meetings
  • Assist in preparation of top‐line accounting and tax reports for the CEO and the Portfolio Manager
  • Ad‐hoc analyses and projects for the CEO or Portfolio Manager

Operations

  • Assist with trade booking and reconciliation
  • Prepare capital calls and distributions as necessary    ‐ Participate in implementation and improvement of internal financial controls
  • Maintain capital projects records
  • Identify areas for process improvements and automation
  • Assist in administration of investment documents; review of subscription documents and agreements, maintenance of capital account balance, analysis of gates, fees and contribution requirements

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • 2‐3 years of experience in public/private accounting (hedge fund exposure a plus)
  • Ability to read legal agreements and contracts (e.g. hedge fund partnership agreements)
  • Proven ability to handle proprietary information with discretion
  • Highly professional demeanor, strong work ethic, team player with a well‐organized with ability to prioritize
  • Flexible and proactive with strong communication skills
  • Experience with investment related tax issues a plus
  • Strong Excel, Word and Outlook; knowledge of QuickBooks preferred
