Summary

Leading Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund in NYC seeking candidate with 3-8 years of experience to join their newly launched Private Equity business, and help build it out from the ground level.

The ideal candidate will be technically oriented and an inquisitive problem solver, particularly with respect to accounting for private investments and special purpose vehicles. Open to candidates with PE, HF, or RE backgrounds who have an interest in the PE space.

Job Description:
  • Prepare a variety of internal and external accounting and financial reports with a focus on private investments
  • Proactively support the various operating transactions of the company
  • Serve as a technical resource throughout the organization and provide subject matter expertise
  • Perform capital calls/distributions, valuations analysis, break resolution, review and approval of NAV packages
  • Monitor relevant third-party service providers
  • Think critically about the information produced and how to provide more tangible and timely insights to management through strategic process design and report delivery
  • Valuation of diverse level 1, 2 and 3 investment positions
  • Conduct performance and attribution analysis and review complex IRR and waterfall calculations
  • Implement scalable, institutional and well-documented policies and procedures
  • Benchmarking to industry best practices
  • Identify and report increased operational risk trends, inadequate controls and potential escalation items
  • Participate in ongoing assessments with management of the adequacy of controls and the identification and escalation of control weaknesses
  • Coordinate across departments the timely completion of and management reporting on the results of various projects

Requirements / Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Financial services experience
• CPA or parts passed
• Strong attention to detail
• Investment accounting background
